Saint Valentine, the protector of lovers<\/strong>, celebrated around the world,\u00a0born in Umbria,\u00a0is in fact the Patron Saint<\/strong> of his home town,\u00a0Terni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here, every year, in the month of February, many events and initiatives are held, dedicated to the\u00a0festival of love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Concerts, events, conferences, exhibitions and religious celebrations are hosted over a long period of celebrations, attracting a large number of tourists.<\/p>\n

Valentine events in Terni<\/h3>\n

A generous calendar of events over the weeks around February 14th<\/strong> makes\u00a0Terni the city of love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These initiatives include art and\u00a0poetry contests, as well as\u00a0baking,\u00a0concerts, exhibitions. There is the International Saint Valentine\u2019s Marathon<\/strong>, the exhibition\/market of chocolate and gift ideas for lovers and\u00a0themed guided tours, exploring the city and the history of its Patron Saint.<\/p>\n

Every year initiatives promoted by both public and private bodies are posted on the internet to offer a very broad programme of events that draw\u00a0a large and diverse audience\u00a0through initiatives that truly cater to all tastes.<\/p>\n

Saint Valentine of Terni: the programme of events for 2020<\/h3>\n

For\u00a02020\u00a0the programme of events for Saint Valentine is particularly extensive and covers a full two months, all of February<\/strong> and March<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The events begin on February first with the \u201cSaint Valentine\u2019s Sweets and Liqueur Contest<\/strong>\u201d which includes the creation and production of baked goods, chocolates and liqueurs\u00a0to help promote a gastronomic identity linked to lovers\u2019 day and the local area.<\/p>\n

On February 2nd the 40th edition of the\u00a0Saint Valentine\u2019s Marathon\u00a0will be held, while on February 6th there will be the exhibition of the Police Force\u2019s Fanfare, with the attendance of Prefect Franco Gabrielli, the Head of the Police Force.<\/p>\n

\u201cRomantic Selfie<\/strong>\u201d is the initiative scheduled for February 7th: romantic selfie sets will be installed in Corso Vecchio, Piazza Corona, San Pietro, Teatro Verdi, San Lorenzo. On Saint Valentine\u2019s Day, February 14th, at the Basilica, mass will be celebrated several times throughout the entire day and the\u00a0Solemn Mass, held by Bishop Giuseppe Piemontese, at 11:00am.<\/p>\n

From February 13 to 15, music and entertainment will take over the main streets of the centre of town, whereas Valentine Fest will be held from the 13th to the 16th\u00a0\u2013 writers, musicians, poets<\/strong> explore the world of sentiment and emotion, at Cultural Centre Caos -,\u00a0Terre di San Valentino Festival\u00a0\u2013 exhibition\/market of chocolate and local products \u2013 and Pensieri d\u2019amore\u00a0\u2013 exhibition\/market of gift ideas for lovers.<\/p>\n

On February 16th, among the many appointments, the programme includes the tenth edition of the International Saint Valentine\u2019s Marathon<\/strong> while the \u201cLe rose di Valentino<\/strong>\u201d musical will be held on February 29th at the Secci Theatre.<\/p>\n

\u201cSan Valentino Arte 2020<\/strong>\u201d will be held from February 8th to the 23rd, the seventh edition of the international art contest, and on March 28th the awards ceremony for the poetry \u201cIo amo di pi\u00f9<\/strong>\u201d (I love more) will be held.\u00a0<\/p>\n
