The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prolocotuorosultrasimeno.it\/campo-del-sole-itinerari-turistici\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Campo del Sole<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is an open-air museum featuring 27 sculptures created by important contemporary Italian and foreign artists between 1985 and 1989. All made from <strong>serena stone<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a sandstone extracted from local quarries \u2013 these creations are arranged in a spiral around the central work which represents a sort of sun dial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Parco delle Sculture (Sculpture Park) in Torgiano<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>Brufa<\/strong>, in the area of Torgiano, there is another open-air contemporary art museum. The\u00a0<strong>Parco\u00a0delle\u00a0Sculture (<\/strong>Sculpture Park), created through the \u201c<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scultoriabrufa.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scultori a Brufa&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>. La Strada del Vino e dell\u2019Arte (Sculptors of Brufa. The Wine and Art Road)\u201d project: every year since 1987 a sculptor donates one of their works and the result, in continuous evolution, is a unique and amazing combination of nature, landscape and contemporary art.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Ideal City at Montegabbione<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Immersed in the woods, in the hamlet of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lascarzuola.com\/la_scarzuola_30_03_2016_003.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Scarzuola<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(Montegabbione), you will find\u00a0The Ideal City of <strong>Tomaso Buzzi<\/strong>, designed and built by the Milanese architect between 1958 and 1978. It is a maze-like structure teeming with symbols, meanings and quotations and distinguished by surreal constructions and sculptures, pools and stairs made of tuff, archways and doors, statues and bas-relief that create a fantastical and mysterious complex, a truly magical place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Concordia Theatre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Its charm and magic are owed mostly to its size. In fact the\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teatropiccolo.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Concordia Theatre<\/a>\u00a0of Monte Castello di Vibio<\/strong>\u00a0is considered the\u00a0<strong>smallest theatre in the world<\/strong>. With an area of just 200 square metres, it offers visitors a unique atmosphere: 37 seats in the arena and 62 in the balconies, offering a maximum audience capacity of 99. The Concordia features all of the elements of Typical <strong>Italian theatre<\/strong> design\u00a0and is in the centre of a small and characteristic medieval hamlet just a short distance from\u00a0Todi.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Carsulae<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>An <strong>ancient Roman city<\/strong>\u00a0characterised by monuments and buildings and numerous inscriptions that tell the story of a rich and politically active town. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/carsulaeserviziculturali\/about\/?ref=page_internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The archaeological area of Carsulae<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is the result of extensive excavation work that brought to light, and not only, the forum, the great arch known as <strong>Saint Damian\u2019s Arch<\/strong>, monumental tombs, temples and places of worship, the theatre, the amphitheatre and a hot springs facility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fonti del Clitunno \u2013 Clitumnus River Spring<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A\u00a0body of water\u00a0known for being incredibly clear and emerald in colour. The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fontidelclitunno.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clitumnus River Springs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0represent the source of the <strong>Clitumnus river<\/strong> and are also famous for the lush\u00a0vegetation \u2013 especially willows, poplars and moss \u2013 and for the population of swans and aquatic birds. With a perimeter of just over 400 metres and a surface area of almost ten-thousand square meters, this small lake offers a <strong>unique atmosphere<\/strong> that <strong>inspired poets<\/strong> such as <strong>Propertius, Pliny, Virgil, Byron and Carducci<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mystery, charm:\u00a0Umbria\u00a0is all of this, a land that will enchant and surprise you with unique, unusual attractions.
