It’s back, from October 18 to November 16 2025, Frantoi Aperti, Open Oil Mills: the event that celebrates olive pressing and new virgin olive oil, and is now at its 28th edition.
Indeed for 28 years Umbria has been celebrating oil for five weekends, with many initiatives held in town squares, in olive groves and at oil mills.
This event, which involves the entire region, is organised by the Association called Strada dell’olio extravergine di oliva Dop Umbria (the P.D.O. extra virgin olive oil route) in collaboration with the Region of Umbria.
Frantoi aperti 2025: The programme
The programme for the 2025 edition of Frantoi Aperti ( Open oil mills) involves the collaboration of mills with cultural and artistic institutions in the region: libraries, artistic collectives, musicians and graphic designers come to the mills and turn them into creative spaces and art studios.
